Assigns a driver to an identified trip. Available only to carriers.

Both trips and the loads they contain can have assigned drivers. If a trip with no loads has an assigned driver, all future loads added to it will automatically get the same driver assignment. Loads with different assigned drivers will have their drivers reassigned.

When a trip with no driver has loads with assigned drivers, the loads will get their drivers reassigned if a unique driver is assigned to the trip. It’s not possible for a trip to contain loads with different driver assignments.
